“Cuddle the Breezy Summer and Spin with Dreamy Bubbles” Inspired by the toy “spinning bubble”, we are turning PMQ’s Courtyard into a bubble paradise, where colorful bubbles fill the place and spread happiness to everyone. The bubbles are visually pleasing, with a sense of lightness and refreshing coolness. The beauty of the bubbles is very different during the day and at night. The night lights and the bubbles are intertwined to reflect a mysterious charm. Whether you are an adult or a child, you can spin together and witness the beauty and happiness generated.

AaaM Architects believe design is to respond effectively to the nitty-gritty of life and the surrounding environment, in order to bring a good sense and experience. The floating and pulsating bubbles can give people a sense of healing, thereby alleviating tension and stress. This summer pavilion hopes to bring the time and space for fast-paced city dwellers to 'take a break' amidst the often-suffocating environment. This installation was commissioned by PMQ Management Co. Ltd.. Amid the summer heat, which provide an art design interaction between man and the environment creating a delightful sensory experience. Cooperate with the weekend market to gather visitors, it becomes one of Hong Kong's popular landmark activities during summer months of 2018.

"Cuddle Bubble" is an interactive set of bubbles turning into an immersive visual experience of imagination, successfully arose attention of general public and routing a record-breaking number of visitor traffic to PMQ. During the event period, extensive media coverage was received featuring the summer installation and it was the “talk-of-the-town” event among millennials on social media platform.

Often, commercial installation design is to be land-marking and eye-catching. Our summer pavilion “Cuddle Bubble” is a complete reversal. Inspired by a traditional toy stick, the design is fully driven by experience and creating collective memories. It successfully pushes beyond the limit of traditional installation in commercial environments.

Site Design: Fully utilizing the ample daylight, cross-ventilation and multidimension viewport of the PMQ site, the summer pavilion draws the community together and release the hustle-bustle from their daily life. Components: Right below the glass canopy, 24 flimsy, flap-like "clouds" float over the Courtyard and flutter in the wind. Another 60 bubble sticks are placed on the ground, half of them sway and dance in a "self-satisfied" manner, automatically rolling out a pleasant rhythm; the other half welcome the public to reach out and spin, so that the bubbles will slowly bloom and turn into a dreamlike illusionary "soap bubbles" or other soaps. Visual effects: A sense of lightness and refreshing coolness is achieved physically by bubble sticks. Visitors can spin, jump, walk, run or simply sit around/ inside the installations without any restrictions and boundaries.

Immersed inside the bubble playground, visitors go through a process of self-healings: the adult picking up their childhood memories while the kids finding their future dreams. An installation cum a pavilion, design for all ages, was the best checked-in event in the summer of 2018.
