In Chinese mythology, dragon is a mysterious creature and a symbol of power, honour, and auspiciousness since ancient times. To commemorate the Year of the Dragon, this series of bank cards have been designed with the dragon theme in mind. The primary objective of this design is to vividly capture and subtly convey the multiple symbolic meanings of the dragon in traditional Chinese culture through a variety of special design techniques. To attain this objective, the design team utilized various artistic techniques to construct a vivid and rich image of the dragon. They started with four techniques, combining different artistic techniques to achieve the aim. The traditional Chinese painting style, mainly line drawing, embodies the power and majesty of the dragon. The decorative painting style, on the other hand, illustrates the positive meaning and artistic value of the dragon. The 3D style captures the delicacy and elegance of the dragon, while the vector illustration style expresses the characteristics of Chinese folklore and the regional cultural flavour. By employing these diverse design languages, this series of bank cards pays homage to the traditional cultural values of the dragon while also providing a multi-dimensional experience for modern users to explore the dragon. This design is an excellent representation of the team's skilful use of design techniques to create an engaging product that captures the essence of Chinese mythology and culture.
